Creating a video is a multi-stage process. The main steps of the process look as follows:
The process of creation of a video film or any other product starts with defining the target. What target are you going to hit? What do you want to say and what feedback do you expect? Before you make your first step you should make it clear for yourself where the clip is going to be demonstrated: on TV, on the Internet or in a cinema theatre? Thus you choose the working format and make it possible to estimate the costs. The last thing to do during stage one is to calculate possible expenses.
Step Two
One of the most complicated steps is generating ideas and choosing the best one. When the aim and the task of the video clip are clear it is time to find the right way for the information to reach the target audience. There are numerous ways of expressing the same idea; the most complicated task is to choose the optimal one out of those available.
Step Three
The idea is clear but it is too early to get down to shooting or animation. The script should be thoroughly developed and a scheme of frame-plan should be thought about, though a good idea is to create an animatic – a rough and simplified version of the video film of your dream. It is better to see once than to hear twice. Each reader of the script creates his or her own variant of the film in his/her mind; an animatic or a frame-plan help unify our mental vision and make the audience see the author’s version. It is much easier to make corrections or re-draw some frames at this stage than to introduce alterations into the footage. That is why it is necessary to work out every detail of the script very thoroughly: the success of all the steps to follow depends solely on the script. Having a thoroughly developed script makes it possible to calculate expenses and time frames; and it is at this stage that it should be done.

Final Step
Montage and processing of the ready footage, or post production. This stage includes all the work related to final processing or finishing of the ready material to receive the result desired. The result of this operation is a video film ready for demonstration.
The scheme of work presented is very approximate; the number of steps may vary and depends on the type of the video reel. Their sequence may also differ from that described. But to cut the long story short, following the above-listed steps may result in a best product with lowest costs.
